José Pedro Sousa

José Pedro Sousa is an Architect graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP), Master in Genetic Architectures from the International University of Catalonia (UIC), and a PhD in Architecture from Técnico of the University of Lisbon (IST-UTL). As part of his research on the application of digital fabrication with cork in architecture, he was a Special Student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Visiting Scholar at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn). Since 2009, he has been Assistant Professor at FAUP, where he founded and heads the Digital Fabrication Laboratory (DFL), which is a research group dedicated to explore the impact of digital technologies on architectural thinking, design and construction. He is currently a member of the High-Level Roundtable of the New European Bauhaus.
